SPIRITUALITY
The Universe is Testing You
Are You Rising to the Challenge?

Why does it often seem those who have led the most difficult, pain-ridden lives are often the happiest?
I think what it comes down to is how we handle being tested by the universe.
We aren’t sent here to suffer, we’re sent here to learn to transcend suffering — and in that vein, the universe gives us tasks. Obstacles to complete if you will.
When someone gets through a task, takes a lesson from it, and comes out the other side they move on to harder tasks, whether that be physically, mentally, emotionally — whatever it is that person is here to learn, it’s to bring them one step closer to that realization.
But we have free will you see. If the universe sees that we are crumbling under the weight of what we are being asked, it will say “woah, hold on now, they need some more time to complete this first task before they move on” and so back we go to learn that lesson again, but this time with more grace.
Often, we get ourselves stuck in these karmic loops of learning the same lessons repeatedly, unconsciously, without realizing we’re stuck in the loop. We accept that “this is just how it is” and therefore, that’s where we stay.
If we, however, choose to take the lesson, soften our egos, allow the universe to plant the seeds of knowledge it must and become a habitable environment for those seeds of knowledge to grow, to transmute our pain and our sorrows into joy, we continue down our path — we are all brought here to attain great things, lead amazing lives, and learn much along the way. But first we must surrender to the fact that we live in a universe of duality — you must take the good with the bad and do so willingly, gratefully, to keep climbing into a higher awareness of the self, of the whole.
We must be able to see that the joy we seek and the sorrow we feel are two sides of the same coin — once you see this, are comfortable with the idea, and can live in peace and harmony knowing it’s not all going to be sunshine and rainbows and face your tests head on, with ferocity and gratitude, you will realize what it means to live a blessed life.
