What Grief Has Taught Me About Life, Regrets, and Gratitude
Sometimes, the Biggest Blessings in Life Come Wrapped in Very Sad Lessons
My life has turned into a sad replication of a country music ballad. I lost my dog, my husband, and most recently, my grandmother, who served as a mother-figure my entire life.
Let’s just say the past six months have been challenging, to put it mildly.
The reason I write this isn’t to bitch and moan about how pissed off, and saddened, and emotionally drained I am (though I am all those things as well).
Instead, I write this hoping that maybe some of the coping mechanisms I’ve put into place can help someone else cope with a challenging time in their lives.
There Will Never Be Enough Time
If we’ve lost anything between my grandmother’s generation and my own, it’s a sense of community. After giving birth to my daughter, there was no large group of other moms for me to go to for advice.
